5 Days Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari takes you through to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park which located in southwestern Uganda. The home of over 630 mountain gorilla, the journey to Bwindi National Park takes about 8 hours drive. Gorilla trekking safari offers you an amazing experience in one of the 19 habituated mountain gorilla groups. Besides the Gorillas, you will also have an opportunity to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others.
Our 5 Days Gorilla trekking and wildlife Safari offers the best chance to explore Queen Elizabeth National Park, with over 86 of mammals and about 606 types of bird species which include and Purple Gallinule, Grey herons, Jacanas, Rufous Bellied Heron, Squacco, Purple and Goliath Heron, the Globally threatened Pallid Harrier and mammals such as Rothschild’s Giraffe, Cape buffalo, Elephant, Waterbuck and many others will be viewed on the magnificent Mweya Peninsula which prides in a beautiful waterfront locale within the shadows of Mountain Rwenzori.
Day 1: transfer from Kampala – Bwindi National Park
Our 5 Days Wildlife Queen and Gorilla trekking tour will start with our driver-guide pick you up at the hotel or at any place of residence, and then brief you about 5 days safari. Later processed to the southwestern part of the country with en-route stop over at the equator for photography and experiment.
Embark on the drive to Mbarara for lunch at Agip Motel then proceed to Bwindi National Park the home of Mountain Gorillas. It is estimated to half of the world’s surviving population of mountain gorillas –630 live within Bwindi National Park. The drive is long but enjoyable. Proceed south to Buhoma viewing the terraced hills of Kigezi Highlands which known as Switzerland of Africa.
Have Dinner and Over at Buhoma Gorilla Havens Lodge/ Trekkers Tavern Lodge/ Mahogany springs.
Being your day with early morning breakfast with packed lunch, then your driver guide will transfer to the starting point for a briefing by your guide. You will be allocated guides to track gorillas with, and then will be off to begin your adventure. The time is taken and the terrain varies (1- 8 hours) this depends on the movement of these gentle giants. The thrill of meeting face to face takes away the pain of some times long and arduous trek. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters’ frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful manner.
In the evening you could choose to still stay and relax at the lodge or take an evening walk through the Batwa community, this will give you chance to interact with these people, learn how they live and also watch them perform their traditional dances and songs. Return back to the lodge.

Day 3: Bwindi National Park to Ishasha – Queen Elizabeth National park
After early breakfast head for Ishasha sector, which is the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is one of the most outstanding treasures of Uganda, and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve for Humanity under UNESCO auspices. It borders on Lake George and Lake Edward as well as Kazinga Channel in the western area of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. You will drive in the Ishasha sector as your searching lion tree climbing and then check in for lodge.
After lunch takes a 2-hour launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. This waterway joins Lakes Edward and George and it is filled with schools of hippos, buffaloes with elephants at the banks. You are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas and leopards, Bushbuck, Waterbuck and striped jackal and of-course the several warthogs. After the launch cruise will take a short evening game drive.
Have dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Enganzi Lodge/Bush Lodge/Katara Lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Evening game drive
After breakfast early in the morning, you will depart for Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge still in Queen Elizabeth National Park with your tracking gears. During the tracking, you will slope down a gorge with sights of magical lush mature tropical forest, thriving below sea level supporting counts of chimpanzees.
Hiking the gorge steep slopes in search of the chimps is challenging but eventually encountering them is gives a lifetime memory as you will find them rolling on tree branches, making pant hooting calls, also spot the black and white colobus monkeys and the olive baboons. The walk generally takes around 2‐5 hours. Back to lodge for lunch and evening game drive in search of animals, expect to meet animals like buffaloes, waterbucks, leopards, elephants, giraffes, Jackson’s heart beasts, oribis, warthogs and other species of animals at the delta.
Have Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Enganzi Lodge/Bush Lodge/Katara Lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala / Entebbe Airport
After a morning breakfast briefly drive through the game trails as you drive out of the Park to embark on your return journey to Kampala. En route in Mbarara for lunch and Igongo culture centre (the historical ground for Ankole culture). Retreat from that and continue to Kampala, refresh and proceed to the airport for your flight back home.
