8 Days Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari
8 Days Best of Uganda Wildlife Safari take you through to Uganda’s largest Park known as Murchison Falls National Park, situated in Northwestern Uganda on an area of 3,840 sq km, gazetted in 1926 as a game reserve. It is classified with Savannah grasslands and the Victoria Nile that flows through separating it into two (the northern and southern bank).
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in southwestern Uganda. The home of over 630 mountain gorilla, the journey to Bwindi National Park takes about 8 hours drive. Gorilla trekking safari offers you an amazing experience in one of the 19 habituated mountain gorilla groups. Besides the Gorillas, you will also have an opportunity to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others.
Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park
After an early breakfast, our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel or at your place of residence, he will brief you about your 8 Days Best of Uganda Wildlife to Murchison falls and you will start your 6 hours journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will go through the Luwero, and later have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking; here you will find both black and white rhinos.
After tracking has another stop in Masindi where you will have lunch, after lunch proceeds to the park and along you will see various animals such as warthogs, baboons among others as you drive to the lodge, relax the whole evening.
Have dinner and an overnight. Red Chilli/Pakuba Safari Lodge/ Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Morning game drive and a boat cruise along the Nile
On this day wake up early and have a cup of teas at 6:30 am, and then the ranger guide will pick you up from the lodge to start your Game drive at 7:00 am. During the drive, you will be in a position to see very many animals such as lions, leopard, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, waterbucks and birds among others. After the game drive at around 11:40 am, drive back to the lodge, for morning breakfast, relax/freshen up and have lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise.
On the boat, you will be able to see various Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and elephants along the banks of the Nile as well as different beautiful birds such as the bee-eaters, the coloured kingfishers, and the shoe-billed stork and many others. The boat will lead you to the base of these falls, where you will get out and start off on a 1-hour hike to the top of the Murchison waterfalls, you will see amazing sceneries; right from the falls, vegetation among others. You will meet your driver guide at the top who will later transfer you back to the lodge.
Overnight: Red Chilli/Pakuba Safari Lodge/ Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Departure/Return to Kampala
Enjoy your breakfast; thereafter proceed for another Game drive in the morning on your way back to Kampala. It will be a great time as you look out for various animal species though most of them will be seen in the grasslands feeding such as buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, lions, antelopes, not forgetting a number of bird species. Leave the park, have a stop in Masindi for lunch and continue with the journey reaching Kampala in the evening.
Have Dinner and overnight at Serena hotel/Acacia lodge/Forest cottage
Day 4: Transfer from Kampala – Bwindi National Park
Have early breakfast and then processed to the southwestern part of the country with en-route stop over at the equator for photography and experiment, Embark on the drive to Mbarara for lunch at Agip Motel then proceed to Bwindi National Park the home of Mountain Gorillas. It is estimated to half of the world’s surviving population of mountain gorillas –630 live within Bwindi National Park. The drive is long but enjoyable. Proceed south to Buhoma viewing the terraced hills of Kigezi Highlands which known as Switzerland of Africa.
Dinner at Buhoma Gorilla Havens Lodge/ Trekkers Tavern Lodge/ Mahogany springs.
Being your day with early morning breakfast with packed lunch, then your driver guide will transfer to the starting point for a briefing by your guide. You will be allocated guides to track gorillas with, and then will be off to begin your adventure. The time is taken and the terrain vary (1- 8 hours) this depends on the movement of these gentle giants. The thrill of meeting face to face takes away the pain of some times long and arduous trek. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters’ frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful manner.
In the evening you could choose to still stay and relax at the lodge or take an evening walk through the Batwa community, this will give you chance to interact with these people, learn how they live and also watch them perform their traditional dances and songs. Return back to the lodge.

Day 6: Bwindi National Park to Ishasha – Queen Elizabeth National park
After early breakfast head for Ishasha sector, which is the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park which is one of the most outstanding treasures of Uganda, and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve for Humanity under UNESCO auspices. It borders on Lake George and Lake Edward as well as Kazinga Channel in the western area of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. You will drive in the Ishasha sector as your searching lion tree climbing and then check in for lodge.
After lunch takes a 2-hour launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. This waterway joins Lakes Edward and George and it is filled with schools of hippos, buffaloes with elephants at the banks. You are likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas and leopards, Bushbuck, Waterbuck and striped jackal and of-course the several warthogs. After the launch cruise will take a short evening game drive.
Have dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Enganzi Lodge/Bush Lodge/Katara Lodge.
Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and Evening game drive
After breakfast early in the morning, you will depart for Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge still in Queen Elizabeth National Park with your tracking gears. During the tracking, you will slope down a gorge with sights of magical lush mature tropical forest, thriving below sea level supporting counts of chimpanzees. Hiking the gorge’s steep slopes in search of the chimps is challenging but eventually encountering them is gives a lifetime memory as you will find them rolling on tree branches, making pant hooting calls, also spot the black and white colobus monkeys and the olive baboons. The walk generally takes around 2‐5 hours. Back to lodge for lunch and evening game drive in search of animals, expect to meet animals like buffaloes, waterbucks, leopards, elephants, giraffes, Jackson’s heart beasts, oribis, warthogs and other species of animals at the delta.
Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Enganzi Lodge/Bush Lodge/Katara Lodge.
Day 8: Transfer to Kampala / Entebbe Airport
After a morning breakfast briefly drive through the game trails as you drive out of the Park to embark on your return journey to Kampala. En route in Mbarara for lunch and Igongo culture centre (the historical ground for Ankole culture). Retreat from that and continue to Kampala, refresh and proceed to the airport for your flight back home.
